MB in crash helmet ExeterThe really annoying thing is that this wonderful crash helmet managed to get itself left behind on a train to Pitlochrie during a (mostly) cycling trip to Scotland. But although not always bearded, the face is the same.

As a former journalist (long-time Reuters and BBC correspondent in the once-communist world) turned transpersonal psychotherapist, I work out of London and Cirencester with fellow humans struggling with trauma and meaning.

I specialise in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), which with Trauma-focused Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy is one of the two therapeutic approaches recommended for trauma by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). But I also work with the widest range of therapeutic approaches, believing with China’s former leader Deng Xiaoping when speaking of the Chinese economy that it doesn’t matter whether a cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice.

Although not strictly speaking an eco-therapist, I am passionate about trauma, healing, and in particular the psychology of climate change denial. I am also a determined cyclist – a psychlotherapist therefore?
